Sheikh-ul-Aalam NGO distributes free masks in Bandipora

Bandipora, 21 Aug : Following a call by the divisional administration, Sheikh-ul-Aalam Evnironlink Society a non-governmental organisations have taken up campaigns to create awareness among the public on the importance of using sanitisers, wearing masks and maintaining physical distance to protect oneself from coronavirus.

Sheikh-ul-Aalam Evnironlink Sociaty has distributed around 2000 masks in Garoora Village of Bandipora. SAES members, including its founder Zahoor Ahmad Wani, have been distributing masks to people from all walks of life. Mr. Zahoor said they were making people understand that wearing a mask in public places was compulsory in view of the increasing COVID-19 cases in the district.

SAES founder Zahoor Ahmad said, “Proper social distancing was followed throughout the activity. I along with other members have been providing free face masks to the people since the lockdown. We saw it appropriate to distribute free masks apart from educating the people to make it a habit at their workplaces or whenever venturing out of their homes for some emergency work,” he said.
